Mpower Team crosses
1000 stages of magic performance
By overcoming the challenges of disabilities and neglect of society through magical art, differently abled artistes performing at Magic Planet has created a historical land mark. The Mpower team consisting of six mentally challenged talents affected with various autistic disorders like Cerebral Palsy, Down syndrome, Depression, and Hyperactivity has successfully completed 1000 stages, since the inauguration in 2017.
The event to honor, differently abled talents on their unique milestone, titled Miracle of Mpower was jointly organized by Magic Academy in association with Kerala Social Security Mission. The function was inaugurated by Doha Bank CEO Dr.R.Seetharaman. In his inaugural speech he said he was ready to be the brand ambassador in the model initiative and actions took forward by Gopinath Muthukad for promoting the development and upliftment of mentally challenged children in our society to other parts of the world.
Child Development Centre Director, Dr. Babu George made the keynote address. Executive Director Kerala Social Security Mission Mohammed Asheel made the welcome speech. Magic Academy Executive Director, Gopinath Muthukad and Director Chandrasenan Mithirmala also participated in the function. The child artistes Rahul P. R, Vishnu R, Rahul. R, Shilpa.S, Sreelekshmi. S, Saranya Satheesh were honored by Cine Actor Nedumudi Venu. Before their great feat, entire audience stood on their feet and gave a standing ovation. These mentally retarded child artistes are continuously entertaining the audience groups from various parts of the world reaching Magic Planet. By receiving regular appreciation and applause of visitors, these children has absorbed the essence of art and refined their abilities thereby ensured the qualities of magician through the permanent performance platform Mpower exclusively built for mentally challenged children.
Considering the importance and nature of their performance, Kerala State Child Rights commission has issued special award for the Mpower centre. In addition Child Development Centre, Medical College, Government of Kerala has assessed the overall health status of these children who are currently performing at Magic Planet. The study suggested that there are remarkable changes in overall health status and social outlook of these children. The report concluded that more programs of similar nature should be designed for these children considering the huge success of Mpower. On its basis Magic Academy in association with Kerala Social Security Mission under Social Justice Department, Government of Kerala has joined hands to build Different Art Centre to engage 100 differently abled talents of our society suffering from various autistic Disorders. The centre will be opened on 31st October, 2019.
